Training for ICT skills

Problem

In Cameroon, where the population is around 19 million people, communication and information technology (ICT) are still completely unknown to most people. There are only 750,000 internet users, which illustrates the low level of ICT penetration. However, access to information and knowledge is crucial for sustainable development and is considered a basic human right. The lack of technical knowledge and access to ICT significantly limits opportunities for education and employment, especially in rural areas.

Goal

The aim of the project is to promote access to the internet and IT in rural areas of Cameroon. By setting up a computer school, participants are to be taught basic digital skills that will increase their employment opportunities on the job market. The school offers many people their first opportunity to come into contact with computers and the Internet. In addition, the aim is to improve the technological infrastructure of elementary school in order to promote digital skills at an early stage. Donations of materials and cooperation with companies and experts from the IT sector are very welcome to support this project.
