Sanitary facilities in schools

Problem

In many schools in Cameroon, basic sanitary facilities are lacking. This deficiency impacts the hygiene and health of students and often causes girls to drop out of school once they start their period. Without latrines and washing facilities, children are forced to resort to open areas or bushes, which increases the risk of disease and poor hygiene.

Goal

The project aims to improve hygiene conditions in schools in Cameroonian villages by building latrines, handwashing stations, and rainwater collection tanks. This will allow girls to remain in school and create an overall safe and hygienic learning environment. At the same time, villagers will be involved in the construction and use of sanitation facilities to contribute to improved hygiene throughout the community in the long term.
